The University of Guelph is working collaboratively with several agencies—including Public Health—to determine the appropriate response to COVID-19. Currently, there have been no decisions to cancel or postpone face-to-face classes and/or conferences. Should any travel restrictions be implemented, either by the Government of Canada or the University of Guelph, the situation will be quickly reassessed.
In the event the University restricts access to campus due to COVID-19, face-to-face courses and/or conferences will be cancelled, and full refunds issued. If the decision is made to postpone a face-to-face course until a later date, registered students will have the option to remain registered or receive a full refund. If a course is not cancelled or postponed, the standard refund policy will apply. See the OpenEd Withdrawal, Transfer, and Refund Policy regarding continuing education courses.
We encourage you to purchase travel insurance if your participation in a course/conference involves travel arrangements. In the event courses and/or conferences are cancelled or postponed, the University of Guelph will not reimburse for expenses incurred, including but not limited to travel, textbooks, or loss of wages.
Updates are available on the University of Guelph website. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please contact the OpenEd main office.
