Cannabis Regulations and Quality Assurance Course Reveals Emerging Opportunities in the Cannabis Sector

This winter, Open Learning and Educational Support (OpenEd) is offering Cannabis Regulations and Quality Assurance, the second course for the cannabis production area of focus in the Horticulture Studies program.

Along with its counterpart course Cannabis Production, which will also be offered again this winter, Cannabis Regulations and Quality Assurance is a highly anticipated course that provides students with an insight into the history, regulations, management challenges, and evolving opportunities in the cannabis sector.

Taught by director of cultivation and licensed producer Kimberly Belfry, Cannabis Regulations and Quality Assurance focuses on the Cannabis Act as it applies to licence holders. Students will learn about the process of getting a licence, regulations licence holders must adhere to, and the ramifications for non-compliance.

“Those taking this course will know the how and the why of the Cannabis Act,” says Belfry. “With so many different job opportunities in the cannabis sector right now and everything revolving around regulations, it’s important to know the legal obligations for authorized activities.”
