Online Course Development Opportunity | Course Developer(s) – Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization

Open Learning and Educational Support (OpenEd) at the University of Guelph is recruiting a course developer who can support the refreshment of courses in the Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization. These courses will be updated to align with current practices in the field and revised program learning outcomes. We are seeking candidates with expertise in knowledge mobilization practices and a demonstrated commitment to teaching, online learning, and student success.

Program Information

The Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization is a professional development opportunity that provides in-depth training in the principles and practices of knowledge mobilization—the process by which knowledge is shared, used and applied to inform real-life situations.

The Certificate is a non-degree program designed for graduate students and professionals working in policy, service delivery or research. It is comprised of three 10-week courses offered annually and delivered entirely online through the University of Guelph’s learning management system (Brightspace by D2L). The following courses will be updated according to the following timelines:

  1. Inform: Processes of knowledge translation and dissemination (December – March)
  2. Engage: Building capacity to understand and use relevant evidence (February – June)
  3. Act: Transforming knowledge into action (March – July)

Courses combine discussions of knowledge mobilization theories, tools and techniques with applied examples and hands-on learning activities. The refreshment focuses on revising assessments, updating learning strategies and tools to support evolving learner needs, and updating content based on developments in the field, including integrating ED&I principles and practices. The courses offer an engaging, relevant learning experience where students can immediately apply the acquired skills
and concepts learned towards various professional sectors. To maintain the overall program structure, the course developer(s) will work within a set of parameters in continuous consultation with the Distance Education team and a Community Engaged Scholarship Institute representative.

More information on the program, courses and learning outcomes is available on the Certificate in Knowledge Mobilization program page.
