Classroom Support

This page provides valuable information about available support for centrally-serviced classrooms. Call our Classroom Support Hotline at 519-824-4120 ext. 52778 to find out more about classroom support, or visit us in person in Day Hall, Room 108.

Who assigns classroom space?

Centrally-serviced classrooms for credit courses are assigned by the Scheduling department at the Office of Registrarial Services, with assistance from your departmental administrator. Multimedia requirements can be taken into consideration.

For non-academic reservations, email the scheduling and reservations clerk.

What technology is permanently installed in classrooms?
To find out what presentation technology is available in centrally-serviced classrooms, visit the Classroom Profiles website (login required) or phone at 519-824-4120 ext. 52778. Some classrooms are equipped with full digital multimedia technology that is password protected. Other classrooms have an overhead, slide projector and screen.
How do I access installed classroom technology?

A password is needed to access multimedia technology that is integrated through a touch panel. All users must be authorized by their departmental administrator and trained by CTS AV specialists. AV cabinets and drawers automatically unlock when the password is entered.

Ask your departmental administrator to email Classroom Technical Support if you have not been authorized to use the equipment.

Rental charges apply for non-teaching functions. Please visit our Charging Policies page for more information.

What classroom and equipment instruction is available?

You may request hands-on classroom instruction from one of our certified AV specialists. There is no charge for the first session of classroom training. Subsequent sessions are chargeable at the applicable labour rate. Visit our Charging Policies page for more information.

If you are unable to attend one of the classroom orientation sessions please ensure that you:

  • Reserve your assigned classroom for a half hour via email to Scheduling.
  • Reserve a half hour with a CTS AV specialist by phoning 519-824-4120 ext. 52778. Two working days' notification is required.

Avoid disappointment by planning ahead. Classrooms and staff may not always be available during the week before classes begin.

How do I schedule a certified AV specialist?
To schedule a certified AV specialist at the applicable hourly labour rate, phone 519-824-4120 ext. 52778. Two working days' notification is required.
