Distance Education and Open Learning Program Student Forms

The following forms are for distance education (DE) and Open Learning program (OLp) students.

Certificate Application Request Form 

When you have completed all the requirements for a certificate or diploma (undergraduate degree-credit courses), you can request your parchment through the OpenEd Student Portal.

  • Login selecting the I already have an account option using your username and password.
  • Go to My Applications and navigate to the View more available applications button.
  • Select the Open Learning Certificate/Diploma Application from the available list, complete the requested information and submit.

There is a $40 certificate fee required.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, staff are working remotely. Your certificate/diploma will be mailed to the provided address unless courier is requested (additional fee). 

Final Examination Information Form

If you are studying at a distance, you can request to write your final exam at an alternate location. It is recommended that you make arrangements as early as possible in the semester since changes cannot be guaranteed after the deadline. 

University of Guelph degree and associate diploma students:

To make off-campus arrangements, please email the DE Exam Coordinator for late requests.

Open Learning program students:

Open Learning program students are required to request to write off campus through the OpenEd Student Portal by selecting 'My Exams' in the 'Student Home' menu.

Transcript Request Form 

Open Learning program (OLp) students:

You may request an official Open Learning program transcript through the OpenEd Student Portal.

  • Login selecting the 'I already have an account' option using your username and password.
  • Go to 'Special Requests' and navigate to the Transcript $12 option.
  • If you prefer to have your transcript sent by courier, please also add the applicable Certificate/Transcript Courier Fee
  • Complete the requested information and submit.

Alternatively, you can request a transcript by completing a printable Transcript Request Form which may be faxed or mailed to our main office:

Request transcripts from Enrolment Services website. 

Please note that the University of Guelph and OpenEd do not accept transcript requests via email or email attachments.

Continuing Education Student Forms and Request

The following section is for continuing education students.

Certificate/Diploma Request Form

When you have completed all the requirements for a certificate or diploma (continuing education courses), you can request your parchment through the OpenEd Student Portal.

  • Login selecting the I already have an account option using your username and password.
  • Go to My Applications and navigate to the View more available applications button.
  • Select the Continuing Education Certificate/Diploma Application from the available list, complete the requested information and submit.
Transcript Request Form

You may request an official transcript through the OpenEd Student Portal.

  • Login selecting the 'I already have an account' option using your username and password.
  • Go to 'Special Requests' and navigate to the Transcript $12 option.
  • If you prefer to have your transcript sent by courier, please also add the applicable Certificate/Transcript Courier Fee
  • Complete the requested information and submit.

Course Withdrawal

Students Enrolled in Degree-Credit Courses

Open Learning program (OLp):

You can drop courses on or before the final class day each semester. To withdraw from a course, log into the OpenEd Student Portal.

  • Using your username and password, login selecting the 'I already have an account' option.
  • Go to the 'My Enrolment History' option under the 'Student Portal' tab.
  • Select the drop button on the right-hand side of the course that you would like to drop.

University of Guelph degree students:

You can drop courses on or before the final class day each semester. This can be done online using WebAdvisor.

Continuing Education (CE) Students Enrolled in Non-Degree Courses

To withdraw from a course, log into the OpenEd Student Portal.

  • Using your username and password, login selecting the 'I already have an account' option.
  • Go to the 'My Enrolment History' option under the 'Student Portal' tab.
  • Select the drop button on the right-hand side of the course that you would like to drop.

Student Profile Reports

The following student profile reports can be accessed from the OpenEd Student Portal via the 'My Enrolment History' option under 'Actions and Status':

  • Confirmation of Acceptance
  • Confirmation of Attendance
  • Confirmation of Completion
  • Statement of Grade

Please note that the above reports can only be accessed by Open Learning program and continuing education students.
